Improved MSEL and its Medical Application

چکیده
Edge detection is the basic operation in the image processing and analysis. Multiresolution Sequential Edge Linking (MSEL), which is proposed by Edward J.Delp of Purdue University, has a number of advantages over other edge detection schemes, such as lower false alarm rates while maintaining full connectivity of the edge. However, it is not reasonable in the initial value choosing and time consuming. To this problem, we first use anisotropic diffusion to smooth the image while keeping the edge, and then use the feedback method to optimize the initial value. We apply our method to the medical image, and the experiments show that our method is more efficient and accuracy than the old MSEL.

Identification of human neurophysins: complete amino acid sequences of MSEL- and VLDV-neurophysins.
Two human neurophysins have been purified from acetone-desiccated posterior pituitaries by acidic extraction, molecular sieving, and ion-exchange chromatography. The complete amino acid sequence of each protein has been determined by using a sequencer and characterizing two sets of overlapping enzymic peptides. The two neurophysins belong to two structural families previously defined as MSEL- a...
متن کاملImproved logarithmic-geometric mean inequality and its application
In this short note, we present a refinement of the logarithmic-geometric mean inequality. As an application of our result, we obtain an operator inequality associated with geometric and logarithmic means.

OBJECTIVE The benefits of cochlear implantation for children with developmental delays (DD) often are unclear. We compared cognition, adaptive behavior, familial stress, and communication in children with and without DD. STUDY DESIGN Retrospective review. SETTING Two tertiary care pediatric hospitals. PATIENTS Two hundred four children who underwent cochlear implantation assessed before a...
متن کاملEarly sex differences are not autism-specific: A Baby Siblings Research Consortium (BSRC) study
BACKGROUND The increased male prevalence of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) may be mirrored by the early emergence of sex differences in ASD symptoms and cognitive functioning. The female protective effect hypothesis posits that ASD recurrence and symptoms will be higher among relatives of female probands. This study examined sex differences and sex of proband differences in ASD outcome and in t...
